John McArthur is the founder and owner of Village Friend, a free community website advertising local events, businesses and services that promotes community spirit and greater prosperity in local areas.

John has joined the Get Britain Trading campaign because he believes small firms are vital to this country. We asked him about his support for the campaign and how his firm is helping other businesses to ‘get trading'.

Peak Translations Ltd

Ian Gordon is the Managing Director of Peak Translations Ltd, a small firm that provides a full range of language services, including translating and interpreting, for businesses throughout the UK and worldwide.

Ian has joined the Get Britain Trading campaign because he believes that it is vital that we improve business and consumer confidence if we want to see the economy improve. We talked to him about Get Britain Trading and about what he sees his business and others' getting out of the campaign.

S.L.S Investigations

Mark Docker is the owner of S.L.S. Investigations, a private investigations company based in Manchester. Although Mark's company is doing well at the moment, he has joined the campaign to Get Britain Trading because he wants to give a boost to other firms and to improve business and consumer confidence. We asked him about his motivations for supporting the campaign and the advice he would give to other businesses.

UK Handmade

Karen Jinks is the Creative Director at UK Handmade, an online community of individuals who have their own home-based creative businesses. Karen is supporting Get Britain Trading because she hopes that the campaign will encourage the general public to think about the contribution that small firms make to their communities and choose to support them.

Noisette Marketing

Isa Maria Seminega owns Noisette Marketing, a creative marketing and PR agency that supports, advises and encourages creative businesses. In her spare time, Isa also runs Croydon Mums in Business, a support and networking group for local mums thinking of starting a business or for start-ups who need support. Isa is supporting Get Britain Trading and it looks like she's already on the case herself! We asked her about her motivations for supporting the campaign.

HMG Paints

John Falder is the Managing Director of HMG Paints, a paint manufacturer based in Manchester. A family business, HMG Paints supplies paints, specialist coatings and powder coatings to businesses in a variety of different sectors. HMG Paints has been around for 80 years and John is supporting the Get Britain Trading campaign because he believes that small businesses can beat the recession by working together. We asked John some questions about how he thinks firms can achieve this.

Woods Squared Ltd

Alan Woods is the Director of Woods Squared Ltd, a firm of accountants based in Birkenhead. Woods Squared are business growth accountants who help businesses to increase their profits and improve cash flow. Alan is a keen supporter of Get Britain Trading and is urging businesses to focus on the opportunities out there rather than reading the negative news stories. We talked to him about his positive outlook and his reasons for supporting the campaign.
