The FPB is offering business owners the opportunity to win a free ticket to the next Star Entrepreneur media training event, which is taking place at the British Library in London, on 10 July.
All entrepreneurs need to do to be in with a chance is complete the following sentence: ‘The best/worst piece of publicity I ever had was….'

In addition, FPB members who contact GMT Events, the company behind the Star Entrepreneur media training will receive half-price tickets (normal price £90) for the event, which will focus on how entrepreneurs can get their businesses, products and services covered in the media.

The event will be introduced by Matthew Rock, the founder and business editor of Caspian Publishing. Former Fleet Street journalist Keith Elliot, Chairman of media training company PMA Training, will open the day by explaining that every business has a great story to tell.

Jamie Oliver, business journalist for The Daily Telegraph and a regular contributor to many other small business publications, will talk about what makes a great business story. Entrepreneur David Lester, the founder of Crimson Publishing, will give expert advice on raising a businesses profile in business magazines.

Sally O'Sullivan, chairman of the magazine publishing company August Media, will explore customer magazines, and Francis Ingham, the Director General of the Public Relations Consultants Association, will explain how public relations agencies operate. She will be followed by Paula Gardner, the founder of Do Your Own PR, who will inform entrepreneurs how to use PR to create interest and steal a march on their competitors.

The subject of dealing with PR agencies will be tackled by Adrienne Routledge, the fonder of Sapphire PR, which specialises in business-to-business PR. The Chief Executive of Kaizo, Crispin Manners, will discuss how word-of-mouth marketing can boost sales.

Doors open at 9:30am and the event runs from 10am until 1pm, including a break for networking. To book, visit www.gmtevents.co.uk.
