More than thirty years after the FPB was founded, we continue to campaign for the fair treatment of private businesses by decision-makers and support the profitable growth of our members.
 
Help us to continue our lobbying activities by donating to the cause. Large or small, your contribution will help us to continue to campaign on the issues of concern to your business.
 
We would like to thank those who have helped us over the years. As a result of this support, we have:
  • thwarted attempts to make the administration of Statutory Sick Pay more complicated and costly
  • held the banks to account through our biennial bank survey
  • highlighted the plight of smaller suppliers
  • tackled cash flow by challenging late payment by government departments and larger businesses
  • gained concessions for smaller businesses, including an agreement to a maximum annual increase in rates for all businesses, with small firms paying 5% less than big businesses
  • succeeded in putting a small firms' lease on the Government's agenda
  • been successful in prompting a review into the Uniform Business Rate (UBR), to reduce its impact on smaller firms
  • won the respect of MPs, Euro MPs, Government departments, civil servants and small-business academics for our factually-based campaigning, thanks to your responses to our quarterly Referendum ballots
