The Forum has a successful 35-year history of campaigning on behalf of small and medium-sized businesses. Through national campaigns, targeted lobbying and by taking on individual cases on behalf of our members, the Forum has a major presence in Westminster, Whitehall, the devolved regions and Europe. We work hard to ensure key decision makers understand the difficulties of starting, running and growing a business in the UK.

Over four decades, we've developed our reputation with the civil service, parliamentarians and other decision-makers, as the voice of the small employer. We monitor proposals from Whitehall and Westminster, Holyrood, Cardiff and Brussels, to gauge potential effects on small businesses in the UK.
Our campaigns have helped raise the profile of a number of business issues, such as late payment, and recently celebrated success in seeing the abolition of Low VAT Consignment Relief. We also take great pride in campaigning on behalf of individual members.
Research and consultations
We work with Government in developing many areas of legislation by responding to consultations and supplying evidence of how decisions made at government level affect businesses through regular research of our members.
