No imminent change for small business

The key message from Westminster is that there are no changes for our members in doing business at the moment and that there are a number of plans in place for when a new Prime Minister starts.

Message from Ian Cass, Managing Director:

"Having spent some time in Westminster on Wednesday and attended a number of meetings including the UK Single market Centre Governance group, the message coming from government departments is that there are no changes for our members in doing business at the moment.  All existing legislation remains in place and that that the Department of Business Innovation and Skills have a number of plans and actions ready once a new prime minister and cabinet are in place.

The Forum and our members need to make sure we remain confident in the UK’s ability to manage the changes and challenges that we face.  We need to proactively plan for the future and to remain positive, with a clear message to government that we want the process of getting a new leader and their team in place as quickly as possible.  They will then be able to communicate a clear plan to move the UK forward, which will then enable the UK’s business community to plan and activate their own plans for a bright and prosperous future."
