From April 2012, the circumstances in which employers have to report accidents in the workplace will change. This is good news for the owners of small businesses, potentially reducing the number of incidents that they have to report to authorities. As part of its drive to cut health and safety red tape, the Governement has published amendments to the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurances Regulations (RIDDOR). These mean that, as of 6 April 2012: The period of time an employee has to be incapacitated after an accident in the workplace before their employer has to report the incident
