Small Business Saturday in the UK takes place on the first Saturday in December every year but with its agenda of not only celebrating and hosting small business for this Saturday but for every day of the year. We want to encourage consumers in small market towns as well as large cities to keep it local and support your local businesses and support your community of small businesses.
Join in and support all types of businesses from online, offices and high streets. Look out in your local area for events that could be taking place, hosting meet and greats along with great discounts to be had.
Did you know that :
- Small Business Saturday 2017 was the most successful campaign to date and an estimated £748 million was spent on the day.
- The Prime Minister, the Mayor of London; fashion designer Alexa Chung and actress Billie Piper all publicly supported the campaign.
- Over 115,000 tweets were sent on the day itself reaching more than 115 million people, with #SmallBizSatUK trending at number one in the UK.
- Backing from local authorities was up from 80% in 2016 to 87% this year, with active support for the campaign including small business events and free parking on the day, meaning wherever you were in the UK, Small Business Saturday was happening nearby.
