The Small Business Commissioner Visits the Forum

On June 28th 2018 The Forum welcomed the Small Business Commissioner, Paul Uppal to our office. Paul was appointed as the UK’s first Small Business Commissioner in October 2017, the role was established under the Enterprise Act 2016 as part of a package of measures to tackle late and unfair payment practices.

Within his role, Paul has the responsibility for advising, signposting and dealing with complaints from small businesses with employees up to 50 across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Our Member Engagement team have had many questions and worries regarding Late Payment from our members over the months. Paul was happy to answer these questions along with Suzanne Burke (Head of Operations at the Office of the Small Business Commissioner).

These answers have now been passed on to the members who have asked, along with the actions to follow up with being given Paul’s details if they wish to speak to him directly and to gain more knowledge on the process of Late Payment.

Visit the Small Business Commissioner’s website to find out how Paul can help your small business with late payment issues.

If you wish to find out more regarding Late Payment or any future events we will be hosting contact us or register to our regular email updates.
