Our charity work |
The FPB is pleased to support the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) as its chosen charity. As such, we are committed to generating vital funds to support the Group's work and also increasing the nation's awareness of the charity and its activities, which include improving the management of children with cancer and advancing the knowledge and study of childhood malignancy.
About the CCLG
Cancer, although common in adults, is relatively rare in children; only one in 200 of all cancer cases affects a child. Of the 1,
700 children in the UK it affects every year, 90% are treated by doctors belonging to the CCLG. For further information on the CCLG or to make a donation, visit www.cclg.org.uk
FPB employees raised £2,388 for the charity in 2009 by taking part in regular 'dress down' days and cake bakes. However, the prize for most strenuous fundraising activity has to go to our Chief Executive, Phil Orford, who tackled the 84-mile Hadrian's Wall coast to coast challenge during his summer break. We would like to thank all our sponsors for their generosity.
Payroll giving
We also hold the Gold award for payroll giving. Now in its third year, the Payroll Giving Quality Mark is a Government-funded scheme that rewards organisations of all sizes for making payroll giving available to staff. Click here to read more.
Charity events in 2010
We are planning a series of challenging fundraising events for 2010, and would really appreciate your support.
