When commencing the redundancy selection process, you should consider the skills and personal qualities that will be needed in your reduced-sized workforce. You must use objective selection criteria, based on objective evidence. The FPB's redundancy selection template bundle will allow you to do this.
Score each employee in the pool and put the resulting score in numerical order. This gives you your list of employees at risk of redundancy.
Last in, first out should not be used as it is potentially discriminatory on age/service grounds.
