There are severe penalties in place for not using statutory disciplinary and dismissal procedures (DDPs) or statutory grievance procedures (SGPs).
If you do not have and properly use these procedures and there is a claim at an employment tribunal in connection with a matter that should have been properly dealt with, such action, or lack of, will ensure that your acts are deemed to be automatically unfair.
To be safe, you must act properly and reasonably within your own full disciplinary and/or grievance procedures.
