It’s now 5 weeks since the government forced the closure of Britain’s pubs.
In that time many family brewers who are the pubs’ landlords have done the right thing and cancelled rent.
Unfortunately, some of the bigger pub operating companies have not followed suit and as a result, their tenants are running up debts while having no cash coming in.
The Forum feels this is unfair and unproductive. It will be difficult enough trying to build trade back up after the lockdown, without doing it all with a big financial burden around your neck.
